The Learning Enrichment Foundation
In addition to providing food for child care, our kitchen serves a daily meal to staff and clients, supports our Cook’s Training program and prepares meals for local shelters. Approximately 600 meals are provided daily to the children in our 17 child care centres. Through a partnership between LEF and Second Harvest, our kitchen staff and Cook’s Training students prepare another 500 meals daily for local homeless shelters.
Bicycle Assembly & Maintenance (BAM) Shop:
LEF’s bicycle mechanic training facility operates as a shop. Under the supervision of an expert instructor, students perform very reasonably priced bicycle repairs, maintenance and tune ups. Refurbished bicycles are also available for sale. (Stock varies so call for details.) Graduates of the BAM program go on to work in bicycle shops throughout the city. LEF was proud to have been selected to maintain bicycles of the BIXI Toronto fleet, providing additional skills and employment to BAM graduates.
